"Taboo" from the Colorado potato beetle is a modern insecticide drug, the action of which is aimed at damaging the nervous system of the pest. This product is a liquid concentrate, which is diluted with water before use, according to the instructions. With the help of “Tabu”, pre-planting treatment of tubers and soil is carried out, in which they will be planted.

Description of the drug

The active substance "Taboo" is imidacloprid. It is evenly distributed over all cells of the plant and, entering the body of an insect, attacks its nervous system - the pest loses its ability to move, eat and dies within 24 hours.

Terms of use

Preparing a working solution

Before starting any manipulations with the water-suspension concentrate, the processor must take care of the presence of gloves, a respirator and glasses that protect his skin, respiratory system and mucous membranes from the effects of toxic substances. And only after that you can proceed to the preparation of the solution.

1. The tank for the pickling tank is filled with water to 1/3 of the volume.
2. Turn on the device for mixing the liquid.
3. The concentrate is poured according to the calculations - 1 ml of the agent is added per 1 liter of water.
4. Top up the tank with water to the required final volume.
5. The tool is once again well mixed.
6. The finished product should be used within 24 hours after preparation.

Pre-planting treatment of tubers

The processing is as follows:

• selected tubers are laid out on a dense material, which can be a tarp;
• using a spray bottle, the working solution is sprayed onto the potatoes and left until the agent has completely dried;
• each tuber is turned over, processed on the other hand and left for several minutes;
• Planting is carried out in the usual way immediately after the preparation dries.

The composition of the product “Taboo” includes a dye that allows you to control the uniformity of its application.As a result, each tuber is covered with a strong film, which does not crumble even after the solution has completely dried. For the same reason, potatoes can be planted at any time convenient for you, regardless of weather conditions.

Since potatoes are a tasty prey not only for the Colorado potato beetle, but also for wireworms, Tabu is used to process tubers for planting as well as holes. For spraying the soil using the same working solution as for planting material. 5. “Tabu” is approved for use with the following fungicides: “Vitaros”, “Vialom Tras T”, “Bunker”, “TMTD VSK”. If you need the integrated use of other drugs, you must first conduct a compatibility check.
6. The active substance - imidacloprid - is not the most "popular", so the likelihood of the pest getting used to it is quite small. But in order to reduce the risk of resistance, Tabu is recommended to alternate with protectants from another chemical class.
7. The cost of one bottle with a capacity of 10 ml in online stores ranges from 100-130 rubles. For 1 liter, the price is about 6800-7000 rubles. This is somewhat more expensive compared to other insecticidal disinfectants, but the result justifies the means.
