Important! This procedure is carried out not only as part of the cleansing of your home, but also in order to protect four-legged friends from the danger of infection with worms, which in most cases are caused by fleas.

But animals are not always peddlers of bloodsuckers. Insects can get into the house during the move with furniture and things. And if you find that your pet is clean, you should begin processing contaminated clothing and furniture, which is carried out before the disinsection of the apartment itself.

And only after the source of the flea has been cleaned, you can begin to disinfect the room. This stage is the most important and can be carried out by various methods:

Use of aerosol insecticides

Flea Powders

Using powders will require significantly more time, but less labor. They just need to be scattered in hard-to-reach places and wait until the fleas themselves find them. Skirting boards, corners, crevices will require the most attention.

Important! Remember that for the control of fleas you should choose powder insecticides only contact action. Intestinal powders will be ineffective, because these parasites, even if they want to, will not be able to use them inside for the simple reason that their oral apparatus is adapted only to pierce the skin and suck out blood.

• Phenactin - is highly effective not only in the fight against fleas, but also is able to rid your home of flies.

The powder enters the body of the bloodsucker, after which it is guaranteed to die, but this requires direct contact. In connection with the foregoing, it can be concluded that powders are less reliable than aerosols, therefore, they are used much less often.

Heat treatment

This method is based on the fact that fleas are able to exist only under certain temperature conditions.

What can be done:

• freeze - you can destroy the parasite when the air temperature drops below -20 ° C. Accordingly, for this it is necessary to wait for the arrival of winter. And when the air temperature outside the window reaches the required limit, windows and doors should be opened;
  

  Important! Frost can damage the pipes, therefore, before starting freezing, the house should turn off the heating, and the pipes themselves should be insulated (this applies to both the heating system and the water supply).

• burn out - if the air temperature in the habitat of fleas crosses the + 50 ° C mark, then they will also die. This method is sparing for engineering communications, but it is quite difficult to implement it independently. To "burn out" parasites, it is more expedient to call special brigades that work with heat guns.

Folk remedies

Folk remedies for fleas were invented a long time ago, as evidenced by prehistoric finds - vessels with herbal preparations, which, according to historians, were intended specifically to scare away annoying insects.

Today's methods are not much different from the ancient ones:

• a decoction of wormwood or tansy - the prepared solution is sprayed in the corners of the room - it is believed that its smell should scare away the bloodsuckers;
• dry collection - these same plants, but in a dry form, are laid out under furniture and mattresses;
• mopping with a solution of ammonia and eucalyptus fragrance - this method is proven and has a pretty impressive efficiency;
• the use of turpentine and denatured alcohol is too radical a method, which is also dangerous. Firstly, these liquids are flammable, and secondly, in a house smelling of kerosene, living is not too comfortable.
