The action of chlorpyrifos is based on its ability to block nerve impulses passing from the motor centers of the insect to its nerve nodes. As a result, the cockroach loses its ability to move and soon dies, paralyzed by poison.

In order for the insect to taste the poison, the food bait is part of the gel. She lures the cockroach with its smell, urging him to try the poisonous filling. It also ensures the spread of the insecticide, because the insect will not only try the drug on its own, but will also carry it into the nests on its paws and body.

The gel-forming base, which is a fat-like substance, provides reliable adhesion of the gel to the surface on which it is applied, it also provides a long duration of the bait, as it does not allow the preparation to dry.

Preservatives act as a substance that preserves the structure of the gel and prevent the food bait from deteriorating.

Application

The gel is measured in strips of 2 cm long, making breaks between them from 2 to 4 cm. The result is a kind of dashed line surrounding the room. With low infection of the apartment, the gel consumption is reduced, leaving a space between the strips with a distance of 4 cm. With a large accumulation of insects, the gel amount is increased.

The gel is applied in the following places:

• around the perimeter of the room;
• along the baseboards;
