Ointment from bedbugs of bugs: how to choose the right one?
Going on vacation to a country cottage, you should definitely have an ointment from bedbugs. This is especially true of the case when you are going to rent a house. After all, as a rule, the owners of such institutions save absolutely everything, and furniture is no exception. And bedbugs love to settle in old cozy sofas, where the seams fit tightly enough to each other, and besides, no one is in a hurry to fight insects.
Attention! Red spots that appear on the body after a night's rest are often confused with mosquito bites. But they bite their victims randomly, and bed bugs leave paths on the body.
More signs that you are a victim of bedbugs and not other parasites can be found in the article: How to detect bed bugs in an apartment?
Ointment is not the only dosage form that helps fight the effects of bites. In addition to it, there are such drugs as gels and creams that differ from ointments in the proportions of their components. And, since these differences are small enough, then all of the above drugs are popularly described as ointments.
How to distinguish between ointment, cream and gel?
The method of application for ointments, creams and gels is the same - they are applied to the affected areas of the skin, gently rubbed and left until completely absorbed. But you can distinguish between these drugs in appearance, consistency and composition.
- Ointment is a dosage form with a fat base in which the particles of the active substance do not completely dissolve. The ointment is absorbed slowly, due to which it has the longest lasting effect.
- The cream has a much smaller portion of fat in its composition, but, despite this, it is able to leave visible grease stains on clothing. The cream is opaque and, unlike ointment, is absorbed much faster.
- The gel is made on a water basis in which the active substance is completely dissolved. This makes it easy to wipe it off clothing and wash it off the skin.
When choosing a particular remedy, it is necessary to proceed from the condition of the skin and the prescription of bites. For example, if the skin is dry, and a hard crust has already formed on the site of the bite, then an ointment will be more appropriate. It will be absorbed slowly, dissolving the dead part of the epidermis. If the bedbugs have bitten recently and you have normal skin, then you can easily do with a light gel.
Recommendation! Besides its healing properties, the gel also has a drying effect, which allows it to be applied even to wet wounds. But before use, you must familiarize yourself with the indications for use.
